The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Debuts, Introducing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. It was showcased in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that highlighted the upcoming animated film.
The follow-up to the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will propel Mario to the distant reaches of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a new princess and a powerful new opponent in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
An Interstellar Journey Drawing from Iconic Releases
Much like the games from the Wii period that serve as its inspiration, Mario will leave behind the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. During his grand adventure, he will encounter once more some familiar faces, including the Luma, a popular character from the first movie.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who seemingly wields metal-based powers. Notably, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to further iconic releases like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The movie will see the return of the primary vocal talent, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
New additions to the ensemble for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will bring to life Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by Chris Meledandri, the chief executive of Illumination.

The upcoming Mario film is set to release around the time of the four-decade milestone of the initial Super Mario Bros. release. Beyond the film, 2026 is shaping up to be a significant year for Mario and his friends.
The company has a set of three fresh titles officially announced for 2026, including Mario Tennis Fever, a Switch 2 edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
